Penang Hokkien Prawn Mee
During the Second World War when Penang was under Japanese occupation, the clan jetty (which is a famous heritage site now in Penang) was basically a poor fishing site. All the catches by the people then were only allowed to be consumed by the Japanese army. What is left for the fishermen was the leftover prawn shell and heads, which they found too wasteful to discard. Out of their innovation, and coupled with their cooking style from their place of origin, Fujian (or Hokkien as pronounced in dialect) in China, they invented this delicious recipe of Penang Hokkien Mee. Penang Hokkien Mee is thus a testimony of the industrious, surviving skill of early Chinese Immigrants in Malaysia. Interesting huh!

Some said Penang Assam Laksa has origins of Peranakan, and that it was never created by one person, but evolved over generations. Could this explain it's rich flavour? What do you think?

Highly recommend this instant cooking paste which has real authentic Penang classic flavours of Prawn Noodles, Curry laksa and Assam laksa at a good price. So easy to cook, just add one's favourite ingredients. Delicious, Yummy home-cooked food!

I tink I can consider to open a prawn noodle shop after this.. lol. Cooking prawn noodle is so easy using this paste, Nick give a thumb up and he said can fight with outside prawn stall.. BTW I use my own money to buy this paste hor not a sponsor post. Lol
